The Real Independents
John Lucas
John and his family have lived in Cremorne for more than 30 years ago. John is married with two boys, both of whom attended local schools.
Since moving to Cremorne, John has always appreciated the beauty and sense of community of the area and like many others, he wishes to preserve its unique aspects.
John has worked multinational companies and has held senior management roles throughout his career, including sales director. John brings a strong strategic planning and implementation background as well as experience in managing budgets and finance policy.
Over recent years, John has been a spokesperson for the Committee for Zone C representing his community in the negotiations for the B-Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT). This committee was formed by a group of businesses and residents concerned about the negative impact of the B Line project on our local amenity.
These discussions and negotiations with the B Line representatives have seen significant changes implemented to the benefit of the local community.
As an elected member of North Sydney Council, John’s focus will be to fight for the local area and negotiate the best outcomes for the community against the increasing pressures of overdevelopment and traffic.
As a truly independent candidate, John is able to make a positive contribution to the North Sydney LGA unencumbered by the interests of major political parties and those with vested interests.
